Previously we asked Lead Happit Developer Nicklas Engblom what he does in Happit? Nicklas was able to paint a holistic view of what being a lead developer is all about; but that also made us wander about the specific development tasks. So, what lies behind the Scene of Happit Development Team?
So, What has Happit Development team been up to in April?
As a follow-up to Nicklas blog, we asked Sami Saves our Full Stack Happit Developer to tell us in practice; what the Happit development team is up to now? To which he replied: “For those who know us, this should be quite straight forward; but if you do not know us, we at Happit, try to release something new every month”.
This means that the team is constantly working on improving existing features, and looking ahead to develop new tools that will make Happit even better and easier to use. This time, for the April release; the team made the Happit switch simpler and less obstructive for the users. This was done by combining the end user switch, with the content admin switch. Also, the switch was moved away from the bottom corner. From now on, Happit users can find it peaking from the right edge of their screen. So, if you haven’t already noticed it yet; go to your site and try hovering over the switch, you will be able to see the new control panel behind it.
Making life easier for users, new “Find” feature.
Another big feature that was introduced for the month of April, was the new “Find” feature. Now, when users expand the new controls; just below the Happit logo they will see a magnifying glass with the label “Find”. Clicking on the magnifying glass will open the Find panel. In the Find panel, users will be able to see a list with all the Happspots and introductions that are available for them. By clicking on any of the items in the list, the user will be redirected to that specific Happspot. The user can start learning what he needs immediately; and it does not matter if this is the first time the user has gone through the Happspot sequence or if he/she has gone through the sequence before, the content is available for him/her on demand.
What about the Content Admins; any cool features for them?
On the other hand; the Content Admins, will be able to find the admin tools by toggling the admin switch just below the Find feature. Content Admins should check out the updated content panel (Previously known as “List”), since it has a new option available for them. Content Admins will notice that the panel has a new “Delete” button. Now it is easier to replace or update Happspots when it is needed.
One more cool feature for Content Admins that was added is the right click menu on any Happspot. This new menu will offer new options for the Happspot. In this menu admins can find the new “Rebind” option. This new option will allow users to rebind the Happspot to another HTML element. This means that admins can now move the Happspot anywhere in the page; they can even change the page if they want.
